The World of HD Minicams...
is changing all the time
Prime Television has been supplying minicams for all areas of broadcast for over 15 years. When it comes to minicam facilitation we have seen it, done it, got the T-shirt (cleaned and ironed the T-shirt) and perfected the service.
We would like to share that knowledge and experience with you and your team...

Free 4K Demo
We've never been shy in showing off and we have no intention of changing, so we are offering to come and show you the latest 4K minicam technology from cameras to our slimline gallery racks. We are planning two Open Days, one in London and one in Manchester in the New Year but we are also more then happy to come to any production company, network or agency if requested. We now have a wide variety of 4K Cameras in all shapes and sizes, so get in touch if you are interested in seeing them and remember, you don't have to record in 4K but the cameras are still better then shooting in standard HD.

Better than HD
First indications from the recent productions we have done is that producers want the 4K cameras but are still not willing to record in 4K. In a recent car commercial we provided 4K cameras but recorded in 2K, while a high end BBC Current Affairs production only wanted 4K on two of the five 4K mini cameras we supplied; and even the pop video we shot last week all 4K cameras recoded in 1080/25P. Cost of editing, storage and transcoding remain the issues behind recording 4K and the fact that the market, outside of features and a few commercials, is just not there at the moment. We hope this will change soon.

Funky Halloween
We've hidden cameras in many, many houses but this was a real tester as it was pretty much a show home with white walls and white carpets. The camera requirements was for 18 hidden cameras including six PTZ cameras, six Toshiba HD2 Minicams and six GoPro Hero4 Cameras. We brought nine of the cameras back to our purpose built gallery, using our special white cables and ISO recorded three of the Toshiba's in three locations around the house. The rig took a day just because of the difficulty in hiding the camera cables but the shoot went very smoothly and we were out and away in three hours.
